Producer Boney Kapoor, brother of Slumdog Millionaire actor Anil Kapoor and husband of English Vinglish actor Sridevi, reportedly received calls from the underworld.
A complaint was lodged with the Oshiwara police station in Mumbai and investigations are on. Reports say the calls are being made from an international number. The caller apparently claimed to belong to the Ravi Pujari gang.
The Times of India reports that threats might have a connection to the theft at Bollywood Actor Kapoor’s house last year. Valuables worth Rs 6 lakh were stolen and later two men were arrested. The death threats are apparently being made by the aides of the arrested thieves.
The police are also exploring the extortion angle and Kapoor might be given police protection.
