Who will direct AR Rahman’s first film?

Oscar winner AR Rahman has written a musical story and is excited about exploring the world of filmmaking with it. However, the Slumdog Millionaire music-composer wants to rope in a director who thinks from his heart. That’s the reason he has decided that either Rockstar director Imitiaz Ali or Raanjhanaa director Aanand L Rai would helm his first production venture. But Rahman is yet choose between the two talented filmmakers. Since both Imtiaz and Aanand have been successful directors, wethinks it would be a difficult choice for Mr Rahman. Well, it doesn’t matter who directs the film ‘coz we are sure both Imtiaz and Aanand are capable of doing great job.

Isn’t that the reason why they are being considered over so many directors that too by a genius like Rahman? That speaks volume about their work, hai na?

Raanjhanaa earns Rs.11. 87 crore’s in first two days

Raanjhanaa film featuring Sonam Kapoor and Dhanush has earned Rs. 11.87 Crore’s in the first two days of the release.

The love saga earned Rs.5.12 on Friday and Rs.6.75 crore on Saturday

Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “Raanjhanaa *actuals* Fri Rs.5.12 cr, Sat Rs.6.75 cr. Total: Rs.11.87 cr. Superb jump!”.

While on international front, the film garnered Rs.49,459 [Rs.45.22 lacs] in UK, A$ 23,235 [Rs.12.69 lacs] in Australia and in UAE & GCC the film earned  AED 142,000(Thursday), AED 232,000 (Friday), AED 150,000 (Saturday) respectively.

“Raanjhanaa” was made on a budget of Rs.35 crore.

The unique chemistry showcased by the unconventional Jodi is being applauded by masses.

However, the biggest compliment that Sonam received was from none-other than but her father Anil Kapoor.

She was all smiles, when her biggest critic turned her admirer. Sonam had confessed that, “The biggest compliment for me was when my dad saw the film…and usually he is my biggest critic….He told me, ‘There is not one false moment from you’,” Sonam said.

The Raanjhanaa actor maintains that music is first love

The actor has written songs for few Tamil films like Mayakkam Enna, 3, Ethir Neechal and upcoming film Maryan.

“Music is my life, without music I will just perish, I cannot perform. Whenever I perform, there is some music running in my head and I perform for that music,” the 29-year-old said here Friday at the launch of the cover of Star Week magazine featuring him and Sonam Kapoor.”Music is my food, my love, my life, everything,” he said.

Dhanush to make his directorial debut next year!

He comes from a family of directors and the actor-singer wants to wield the megaphone soon

Tamil actor Dhanush, who is awaiting the release of his debut Hindi film Raanjhanaa, said on Tuesday that he is keen to direct soon. In all probability, he is likely to wield the megaphone by the end of 2014.

“I have been thinking of directing for quite some time now. In fact, I would have started my directorial project had Raanjhanaa not come my way. Currently, I have signed two more projects and therefore, I may likely direct a film by the end of next year,” Dhanush told reporters.

The direction bug bit him because he comes from a family of directors.

“My father (Kasthuri Raja) and brother (Selvaraghavan) are renowned directors in the industry. I can say I have been influenced by them, but I want to take things slowly,” he added.

While Dhanush made his cinematic debut through his father Kasthuri Raja’s Tamil romantic-drama Thulluvadho Ilammai, he has worked with his brother Selvaraghavan in Tamil films such as Kadhal Kondein, Yaaradi Nee Mohini and Mayakkam Enna.

In Raanjhanaa, which is directed by Aanand L Rai, Dhanush stars opposite Sonam Kapoor. Produced by Eros International, the movie releases this Friday.
